If you want a lottery that gives you a chance to be set for life with monthly payments of £10,000 for the next 30 years, then this is the game to play.

Set for Life consists of five main numbered balls with a number set of 1-47. It also has a “bonus” ball known as the Life Ball, which has a different set of number 1-10. So to win the jackpot you must accurately predict the five main numbers as well as the number of the life ball. Doing this gives you a prize winning of £3.5 million, which of course, spread out as monthly £10,000 payments for the next 30 years.

If you’re, however, not targeting a lifetime monthly payment, then you can predict and play lower numbers that can give you instant winnings. You can choose to predict as low as just 2 numbers. Note though, that lower numbers also mean lower odds.

Set for Life was established on March 15, 2019. It was created by the National Lottery as an alternative to the popular UK lotteries that gave winners one time payment of their jackpot prizes. By offering a guaranteed monthly income, it ensured that winners of the draw are financially set for life and don’t have to worry about wasting all their lottery winnings.

Like all lotteries, winning the jackpot is quite an uphill task because the odds are quite monumental. But like the old saying goes, you can’t win if you don’t play.

The odds for winning the Set for Life jackpot (predicting the 5 main numbers and the life ball) is at 1 in 15,339,390. This is why it comes with a prize of £10,000 every month for 30 years.

Accurately predicting the 5 main balls come with odds of 1 in 1,704,377, and your reward is £10,000 per month for a year.

4 numbers and the life ball have an odd 1 in 73,045 and the prize is £250.

Predicting 4 numbers alone can fetch you £50. The odds are 1 in 8,116.

To win £30 you have to predict 3 main balls and the life ball. The odd for this is 1 in 1,782.

Your prize, however, reduces to £20 if you only pick 3 winning numbers alone. Odds are 1 in 198.

For more lower risks, you can play 2 numbers and the life ball or only 2 numbers. Both will get you £10 and £5 respectively and their odds are 1 in 134 and 1 in 15.

Draws of Set for Life lotto takes place every Monday and Thursday at 8pm.

The National Lottery occasionally holds Set For Life Super Chance draws. In these special events, matching just five main numbers wins you the top prize of £10,000 per month for 30 years. This significantly improves your odds compared to regular draws. Additionally, you can still win the same prize if you match all five main numbers plus the Life Ball, as in a standard draw.

These Super Chance draws are not on a fixed schedule. The National Lottery will announce them shortly before they take place. To enter, you simply need to purchase a Set For Life ticket for the date of the Super Chance draw; there is no additional cost. Please note that the top prize is subject to prize capping rules.
